mako and korra relationship book 2

In Season 2, he and Korra broke up and he went right back to Asami. In Book 1 they kinda broke up but Mako didn't really explain himself to her and now in . I don't think either of them need to be in a relationship right now, Korra especially. Mako is a major character in Nickelodeon's animated television series The . war with their northern counterparts to the president, Mako and Korra's romantic relationship abruptly ended in a bitter argument. Revisiting Book two with my older sister and accompanying my roommate for her first Mako and Korra showed us that relationships are complicated, and most.

Not just that, but see how her mascara's been running? When Unalaq orders her and Desna to apprehend Korra, she accepts eagerly so much that Unalaq has to add that he needs Korra alive. At the end of the episode, she screams at Korra for "stealing her husband.

In her own creepy, abusive way. Eska is not interested in Bolin romantically, and is putting him through a Secret Test of Character by acting otherwise. Because admit it, that would be the most hilarious thing ever. Confirmed, but it's because she believed in control.

Eska will break up with Bolin for an extremely superficial reason. Looks to be Jossed as of Civil Wars Part 2. Bolin is the one that breaks up with Eska, by running off to Republic City after Eska decides that they will be married. Bolin will wind up with Zhu Li. A nice, down-to-earth girl who knows how to deal with eccentricity. Jossed by a mile. Bryke is actively trying to redeem Mako's character.

When they wrote Out Of The Past, they meant to get across that Mako cares deeply about Korra and would resort to aggression to protect her. This backfired, as the message that the fandom seemed to get was that this guy was an abusive, aggressive prick who was only ever cruel to both Asami and Korra and could never hope to be a decent person.

If anyone's cared to notice, they've been treading lightly with Mako this season, making it clear that Korra is the one starting most of their fights and that he's making an honest effort to be a supportive boyfriend.

For all who protest, Mako's behavior after the breakup is not typical of abusive boyfriends who dumb their girlfriends out of boredom.

Asami will not try to restart her relationship with Mako. When she kissed Mako in the warehouse, she was in an extremely vulnerable place. Even when she had given up on her company and herself, Mako refused to.

But even though Asami kissed him, she immediately realized it was a mistake and apologized. Maybe she still does have feelings for Mako, but she knows that throwing herself at him is not a good idea, especially not now And even without all that, Makorra is pretty clearly endgame, even with the blip that is their breakup.

Sadly, this troper thinks. Surprisingly Jossed in "The Guide. Eska acted how she acted with Bolin to protect him from Unuraq. Seeing how ruthless he is with his own kids, it's likely they fear he'd do the same to anyone close to them, similar to how Azula used her 'friends' Mei and Ty Lee as her personal lackeys and how Sozen seemed to want to do with Roku.

When Bolin met and immediately started hitting on Eska, she started being mean, intentionally trying to get him to leave and out of Unulaq's line of fire. This also explains why they're both so reserved, they don't want to make friends and grow attacked only to have those friends used as tools by Unulaq. All that said, Eska probably does see Bolin as an uncultured 'rube' unworthy of a princess like herself, but still far too Adorkable to be used by Unulaq, which is why she's so over-the-top in her meanness.

On the same note, this might be the reason for their apathetic relationship with Korra; as they're cousin, they wanted to befriend her, but as the Avatar, she was probably doomed from the start to be used by their father and so they kept themselves distant from her to spare themselves the inedible pain of loosing their cousin.

After seeing the way their father treated Desna, she no longer wants anything to do with him. She will also take a level in sanity. Level in sanity check. Bolin and her getting back together, Check? The feelings are there but they decide to stay apart.

Eventually they Bolin and Eska will get together for real. But they don't get back together, although they do part on good terms. Korra will not be together with Mako at the end of Season 4 This is what the first half of season 2 seems to be building up to, showing that although they certainly have feelings toward each other, it isn't going to work out.

It's part of her Character Development away from being so Hot-Blooded. We should have realised that there's no way that the Love Dodecahedron was going to be resolved with 3 seasons left. On a meta level, this is could be another difference between Korra and Aang; because Aang ended up with his first love interestthe writers are going to go the opposite direction with Korra. Their break-up in the season finale was pretty permanent-sounding, so I'd say confirmed. There are two books left and a lot of character development that could go on.

  • SPOILER SEASON FINALE: Mako and Korra RANT
  • Mako's relationships

Since Book 1 was only supposed to be a miniseries, I'd say that at this point it could go either way. Hence until the last episode of the whole series airs why this is WMG and not canon. Mako and Korra officially broke up for good, and so did Bolin and Eska. Mako and Asami seemed very happy together up until Mako was arrested and later denied that he and Korra broke up, so it's rather likely that they'll make up off-screen.

These pairings are not canon. Korra will get together with an Indiana Jones-like character. Because it'd be pretty freaking sweet if she did. And this new character shall be voiced by either Michael Rosenbaum or Nolan North. Zhu Li isn't just Varrick's assistant; she's his wife. That's why he never goes anywhere without her. That is kind of cute. In Black Comedy sort of way. Originally Jossed, then Confirmed. Varrick and Zhu Li marry in the final episode.

Eska is going to be showing up in Bolin's life sooner than expected. Her father, and the Northern Water Tribe's chieften did just turn into a giant monster and try to level Republic City.

That's going to be a diplomatic nightmare, and the Northern Tribe is going to need to send someone high profile to try a smooth things over. Who might as well look Bolin up while she's in town. There won't be any romantic relationships for the rest of the series at all. The double breakups in the Book 2 finale are meant to acknowledge this, and, like Korra herself, the creators will increasingly focus on their original strengths e.

As a corollary, we will never learn anything else about the pairings of the rest of the Gaang either. This seems fairly illogical just from a storytelling standpoint, Shipping Goggles completely left out of the equation. Bryke would be incredibly remiss in doing their job if they did not go into some of the fallout from the Makorra break-up.

Asami, at least, looked like she was about to murder Mako slowly when he just stood back and let Korra kiss him even though they were not supposed to be together anymore.

She's definitely going to need some closure on that situation Not to give her that would just make the fans even more angry, and Bryke would feel bad because they withheld a good story when their job is to tell stories.

Plus that, they've already promised more info about Lin's family in Book 3. That's probably going to include the identity of her father, if nothing else. Why would they be that shy with Lo K? Any evasiveness they have exhibited in regards to romantic matters could be interpreted as their typical fan-teasing; it's not like they're going to let go of any secrets before the show actually airs.

Jinora has definitely fallen for Kai, one of the new airbenders and Bolin has gotten over Eska and moved on to Opal, another new airbender and Lin Bei Fong's niece. Grand Finale retroactively colors season 3 and 4 as a slow buildup to Korrasami so it's safe to say that this is double jossed.

Korra will get a new boyfriend on the rebound. Maybe the boyfriend is someone we know, maybe it's a completely new character. Either way, the relationship won't last very long.

Even getting with Asami takes more than 3 years. Asami will become Korra's new unoffical love-interest in Season 3 Naturally this will not become offical, we will not see both kissing or something like that, but both will be written like a couple during the season. We already have a lot of Subtext in the first new episodes, with Korras "I never had a girlfriend before"-Quote. Like I said, it will never becomes official, but it will be massive implied.

Korra and Asami remain only friends in Book 3.

Mako breaks up with Korra

Book 4, on the other hand Eska and Opal will meet. And it will be as completely awkward as one might expect. In Book 4, Mako will get a new love interest and she'll be part of the Fire Nation royal family.

The Fire Nation is the one nation that hasn't yet been explored in Legend of Korra. We've already met Zuko and Iroh II but we still haven't met Zuko's daughter, the current Fire Lord, or any other children she might have. Mako ends the series single. Although according to someone on twitter who has been posting a lot of What Could Have Been apparent scenarios for book 4, this could have happened.

Izumi would be shown to have a younger daughter and Bryke supposedly considered having her get together with Mako. Jinora and Kai have been forced to have a long-distance relationship because Tenzin is an Overprotective Dad. He's been deliberately keeping them physically apart to keep Jinora out of trouble. Astral projection is fine because Jinora won't get involved in sex or other mischief just by talking to Kai via astral projection.

The series will end with everyone sitting or standing on a cliff with Korra resting her head on Asami's shoulder or vice versa while fireworks or a sunrise happen. There are fireworks and Korrasami does happen. Kuvira doesn't really love Bataar Jr. She shows little affection for him. They don't hug or kiss. In the "War on the City" clip, Bataar says he loves her. She doesn't say it back. It's unlikely Kuvira would outright betray Bataar as he is too useful.

However, she will likely have to choose whether or not to risk her life to save his and she will choose not to. Somewhat played with in "Kuvira's Gambit" while Kuvira does indeed become emotional at Baatar's kidnapping, she chooses instead to Take The Third Option and try to kill him as well as Team Avatar and most of their biggest allies. The scene does prove that her love for him is genuine, but that it comes in second to her aspirations of conquest I think Kuvira loved Bataar In Season 2, he and Korra broke up and he went right back to Asami.

This tells us he still had feelings for Asami even though he was with Korra. Then when Korra returns from losing her memory he lies to Korra and tells her that their fight wasn't that big and doesn't tell her that they broke up. Then in the season finale he tells Korra the partial truth that they actually did break up but he never tells Korra the truth that he still had feelings for Asami.

Why is Mako so wishy-washy? I thought he learned his lesson in Season 1 and "followed his heart. I know he and Korra butted heads a lot and he betrayed her in fact Korra had MORE reason to break up with Mako rather than the other way around but still. Like Mako said "part of me wanted to forget the break-up ever happened" or something like that. Asami confirmed, and they kissed. However, after hearing of Korra's capture, Mako barely paid any attention to Asami, and she learned from Bolin that Korra and Mako had kissed, making it hard for her to trust him.

While he carried Korra in his arms, he bypassed everybody, even Bolin, and focused his attention solely on Korra in that moment, greatly upsetting Asami. Having knowledge of Mako and Korra's past relationship and her suspicions confirmed, she became upset and jealous. When confronted about his kiss with Korra and his romantic feelings for the Avatar, Mako looked away guiltily and denied her accusation, stating that his reaction to Korra's capture was justified.

Asami was left disappointed and hurt when Mako could not reassure her that she was just imagining things. Feeling betrayed, she ignored Mako and even told him to sit in the back seat of the Satomobile with Korra.

She felt even more marginalized when Mako's attention was focused on Korra after Amon attacked Republic City, despite the fact her boyfriend was aware of how insecure she was feeling. During the battle for Republic CityMako and Asami separated. However, they appeared to reconcile prior to him leaving with Korra to face Amon, as he told her that he would always care about her.

Mako decided to help her find out who was responsible by setting up a sting operation with the Triple Threat Triad. While on the ship, Mako told Asami about he and Korra's split.

The firebender soon overheard triad members talking about the operation being a setup, and the two escaped from the ship, barely outrunning triad members in pursuit.

They rushed to a warehouse where Asami was keeping all of Future Industries inventory, only to find it had all been stolen. Mako tried to comfort his downbeat friend, who was ready to give up on everything. Touched by Mako's concern for her and her company, Asami kissed him. Mako quickly pulled away, clearly confused, while Asami apologized.

Mako later found out through Two Toed Ping that Varrick was responsible for the act, and rushed to Future Industries to inform Asami, only to find out that she had closed a deal with the industrialist that allowed him to buy majority control of the company, thus saving her and Future Industries.

The firebender reluctantly backed away upon hearing the news. However, Asami was shocked when Mako was arrested on the charges of robbing the Future Industries' warehouse, and was unable to believe it.

Upon this act of affection, Asami glared at Mako, angered by his infidelity. Korra "Korra showed me the importance of putting others before myself and whenever I think of her, she continues to inspire me. When Mako first met Korra, he thought she was just another one of Bolin's "crazy fangirls" and practically ignored her. When Bolin went missing, Mako was reluctant at first to accept Korra's help in searching for him, but he eventually complied. The two got along quite well and when Korra asked about the fate of his parents, Mako felt comfortable to tell her the truth.

Later, they fell asleep against each other, and felt embarrassed when they woke up. However, when infiltrating into an Equalist rallyKorra put her arm around Mako's to look more casual, which he only allowed because she stated that they would attract less attention that way. He also allowed Korra to wear his scarf, which was the only thing he had left of his father. He took it back when he realized that Bolin meant the question for himself, saying that she was not girlfriend material and he should not date a teammate.

That night, Korra confessed her feelings for him after they won the game by saying that she thought they were "meant for each other".

Unsure, Mako gently rejected her and told her that he did not feel the same way and he was with Asami.

However, when his girlfriend walked in and he took her to the side, he darted a sad look while eyeing Korra and Bolin glumly after she had accepted to go on a "romantic date" with the earthbender. Mako and Korra irritated with one another after their argument over Mako's feelings for Korra. After the end of Korra and Bolin's date, Mako confronted Korra and accused her of playing games with Bolin only to get back at him.

Both of them glared at one another and stormed away. After a particularly rocky match due to their uneasiness with each other, he went out to talk to Korra and confessed his true feelings by saying while she was "infuriating and drove him crazy", he still thought she was "pretty amazing".

However, despite admitting that he had deep feelings for Korra, he also had such feelings for Asami, leaving him confused and unsure of how to handle this. Korra immediately followed this statement by impulsively kissing him; he was stunned, but kissed her back with equal enjoyment. This moment was disrupted by a heartbroken Bolin, who fled from the scene crying.

This led to a quick, heated argument between Korra and Mako. After the pro-bending match, they acknowledged that taking their relationship further was causing friction between them and everyone else, agreeing to for now just maintain a casual friendship, despite their mutual affection for each other.

After being saved by Chief Beifong from falling to her death from the arena ceiling, he was the first to run over to hug her and told her he was "so glad" she was okay. Mako and Korra's relationship hit another snag when Korra began suspecting Asami's father, Hiroshi Satoof working with the Equalists. Mako threatened to break off his friendship with Korra if she did not drop her investigation against the Satos. When Korra refused to drop her claim and stated that she was sorry, Mako gave her an angry look and walked away with Asami.

When Korra went with TenzinLin Beifong, and members of the Metalbending Police Force to look for Hiroshi's secret factoryhe wanted to go with her, but was told to remain with Bolin and Asami, and was watched by a metalbending officer.

Before Korra disappeared down the tunnel, she cast a sad look back at Mako.
