The Fair was divided into two segments, in from April 22nd to October 18th and in from April 21st to October 17th. Ford built a total of 24 Mustang convertibles for the Fair — 12 for each year. Have you ever heard or even experienced some of the surprising yet true tales surrounding the muscle cars of the s and 70s?
The sixteen-week series is open to the public and covers a variety of intriguing topics. The Museum has assembled 16 of the rarest and most sought-after muscle cars for this exhibit and displaying them with their hoods up gives guests the opportunity to see the power behind the name. Muscle cars were typical mid-sized dealer stock vehicles of the mids to the mids. Because manufacturers placed large V-8 engines into these affordable cars, it gave them incredible performance on the street— and in drag-racing competition.

Both vehicles are German-built Mercedes-Benz K models. The K was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in and featured a supercharged 8 cylinder that could easily propel it down the German Autobahn at speeds exceeding mph. The Mercedes-Benz K models displayed at the Gilmore Car Museum include an original Special Roadster with remarkably low 10, miles driven and a Sport Tourer that had been hidden away in a basement-bunker in East Germany during the cold war and only discovered decades later.
Student admission is free for all pre-arranged K — 12 school field trips to the Museum and educators are encouraged to schedule their outings as early as possible. These Museum visits become fun and memorable experiences where students become very engaged.

Lake Effect Living
Hundreds of classic cars and hot rods cruise the streets of downtown Muskegon. Live music, pub crawl. Car show, traveling fair. Jazz guitarist Ivan Akansiima performs. News from the Gilmore Car Museum
For children years of age. Event begins at 9am. Awards given to all participants. Boys and girls compete in separate divisions. All fishing license fees waived for two days. Free fishing in Michigan only occurs twice a year for two days.
Goldmine Pickers perform a blend of Americana, bluegrass, folk, old-time and Irish music—with dashes of country. Brother duet The Cactus Blossoms perform originals along with early country and Western swing.
Community drum circle geared for beginners. Every second Tuesday of the month thru October. Cheer on contestants as they vie to see who takes the next step on the road to the Miss America Pageant.

On select Friday nights, Ox-Bow students and Artists in Residence will hold studio exhibits of work from the preceding week. Artwork includes glass, ceramics, painting, drawing, metals, papermaking and printmaking.

Visit downtown Hartford for their annual Strawberry Festival. Corner of Main and Butler, Saugatuck. The first official regatta of the season kicks off. After Party at the Yacht Club follows conclusion of regatta. Celebrate and sample specialties of restaurants and bakeries of Muskegon.
